We are both blessed to have this facility and cannot thank the team enough.

The social club especially has been a lifesaver

A carer shares how the social clubs have been a lifesaver for her and her husband.

"I had been concerned about my husband Ben's behaviour for a while, so when he was diagnosed with vascular dementia, it was not a shock to me. What was a surprise, was despite my not spelling it out to our friends (as I didn't wish to have Ben 'labelled'), there was a lack of understanding and tolerance of him. You certainly find out who your friends are!

We were put in touch with Dementia Concern by the consultant at Sycamore Lodge and I bless the day we found you.

A lifesaver for both of us

The social club especially has been a lifesaver for both of us. It enables me to have some respite in the knowledge that Ben is in a safe and happy environment, also knowing that he is treated with respect and affection. He really looks forward to a Thursday and comes home happy and relaxed.

We are both blessed to have this facility and cannot thank the team enough, they do a brilliant job."
